“The content bubble will burst soon,” they say. “Influencers are on their way out.”
I’ve heard this every. single. year. since starting my creator journey back in 2015. Spoiler alert, it’s never been true.
Will content creation look the same as it is today a year from now? Of course not. It’s the nature of an industry built on the internet. Digital marketing is dynamic, and that’s why it’s so important to keep your pulse on trends, news, and what’s next.
But is it too late to start? Never.
So many creators “wish they started earlier,” and that’s to be expected. Think of the success that early creators on TikTok found, when there was less competition and more room for virality. It’s hard to not let your mind go to a place where you tell yourself “It’s too late for me.” “I missed out.” “I can’t blow up the way that they did.”
However, to succeed, a mindset shift is required. Many creators, some coaching clients of mine, instead saw others’ success as a sign that the possibility exists for their own—brands pay creators for work, platforms like TikTok and YouTube have creator monetization options, and affiliate networks like LTK, Amazon and ShopMy help them get paid for sharing things they love. These creators who were able to accept the challenge and face it head-on have gone on to grow and create thriving creator businesses as a result!
Plus, if you start today, you could be in that wave of “early creators” to whatever comes next (and trust me, there will be something that comes after TikTok).
It’s never too late to start—and I’ll be here waiting to cheer you on when you do!
